Cooper River Park is comprised of over 346 acres of open space, vistas, and recreational areas located along the banks of the Camden County municipalities of Camden, Cherry Hill, Collingswood, Haddon Township, and Pennsauken. The park dates back to 1935 when it was created through funding by the Works Progress Administration under President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Cooper River Park offers a place where people can come to socialize, participate in local events, enjoy recreational activities, and take in the natural environment of the watershed.

Visitors to Cooper River Park have many recreational opportunities available to them, including the largest children’s playground in all of Camden County, a mini-golf course, the Camden County Golf Academy, softball fields, volleyball courts, a running track, and a network of trails for walking, running, and biking. Cooper River Park today also boasts a number of amenities and services for the surrounding communities, including the Camden County Boathouse and the Cooper River Yacht Club, which offers a place for corporate meetings, weddings, and other similar events. The park hosts an annual array of regattas held in its Olympic-sized 2,000 meter straight away, which has brought crowds of people from all over the United States to take in the sights of this great race, share in the environmental heritage and culture of the area, and provide a boost to the local economy.
